"And when I'm with you.. I wonder.. if it's like being with a brother." Naruto, chapter 228

uchiha sasuke

my dream doesn't lie in the future.. nor in the present

The complete opposite of Naruto portrays Uchiha Sasuke; the boy with the best grades of the whole academy, the one who is considered a genius by everyone around him, and thus, the one who gets all the attention. All the attention, he actually.. doesn't give a damn about.

Sasuke's mind solely circles around the happenings in his past - after all, the person he had admired and immensely looked up to, massacred the entire Uchiha clan; namely his own brother. Psychologically tortured and left behind completely broken, Sasuke was the only one spared. From that fateful day on, bonds or things such as friendship, didn't matter to him anymore.

"I'm an avenger. I have to become stronger than that man.. So I can't just stay around here!" Sasuke, chapter 007

The only feeling that grew inside of him was the hatred for his brother, and the only thought which kept him alive was revenge. Thus, he had seperated himself from everyone else and spent almost everday training in order to get stronger; in order to get nearer to his goal.

Still, Sasuke has something that seems to attract other people, and despite what his head wanted him to be, his heart told him otherwise- Sasuke had been incredibly lonesome during that time, and deep down, he had longed for someone to understand him.

..and who could understand this pain of being alone, lonely and left better than Naruto? But despite the fact they were incredibly similar due to having already experienced the worst kind of pain and fears, from the surface they were different.

They had chosen different ways to reach their goals; one had chosen love, the other one hatred. But the goal stayed the very same - getting stronger! No wonder their paths had to cross at some time of point, and what came into being was nothing other than an extremely intense and also risky and unstable rivalry between the two.
