the series
because I will make my dream come true
There are only very very few people in the anime/manga fandom who have never heard of NARUTO before after it has been published chapterwise in the Shounen Jump magazine in 1999. Who would have thought this series about a young wannabe ninja would be such a huge success? Well, Kishimoto for sure wouldn't have thought so, as he stated in one of the countless interviews.
The series primarly revolves about Naruto Uzumaki, whose dream is it to become Hokage (the best ninja in his village) and thus, to make everyone recognise him and his strength. First, it seems impossible for him to reach his goal, but as the story progresses we learn that there is much more behind the little prankster.
At the age of 12 he gets assigned as Team Seven, together with Uchiha Sasuke, Haruno Sakura, and their teacher, Hatake Kakashi. From that day on they should truly learn the meaning of a true shinobi, of team work, and lastly also of friendship, bonds and care.
Generally speaking, the plot of Naruto strongly emphasizes on personality and relationship development, as there is an incredibly wide range of characters in the series. Another important aspect of the series is what true strength means:
"When a person has something important to protect.. that's when they can truly become strong." Haku, ch. 21
